When I first started posting online (Youtube and Instagram) I was obsessed with doing whatever would get me the most clicks - which was usually clothing hauls. I bought hundreds of pounds worth of clothing and makeup from the likes of Shein and Zaful, when one day it occurred to me how terribly wasteful it was. I decided to commit my life to buying only what I needed, and when I did need something I would scour charity shops or Vinted, and if I didn't find what I was looking for I would invest in something I knew would last me years and years. Going from one extreme to the other has made me realise how you don't need to buy into trends to be stylish and creating a personal identity through style using what you already own is so much more fulfilling. I've dedicated my social media pages to encourage people to do the same without being judgemental or patronising.
